Argentina

Argentina

From a geographical point of view, Argentina, as the 8th largest country on the planet, is also one of the least densely populated. Around 30% of the population of 40 million lives in the capital, Buenos Aires. On top of this, the next 4 major cities then account for the next 5 million or so. This leaves around 14 million spread out through the remaining towns and cities of Argentina.

The Iguazu Falls

Located right at the very northern most point of Argentina, surrounded on all sides by other countries, lies the province of Misiones and the infamous falls of Iguazu. A firm favourite on the tourist trail to Argentina (and rightly so) the Iguazu Falls is one of nature’s greatest wonders and highly recommended. At a site like this, as with many elsewhere, with great fame has come great numbers, and the once small town of Puerto Iguazu has steadily expanded along with the demand….this does not, however, detract from the experience in our view.

Bariloche and the Lake District

The many lakes and mountains that surround the small, Alpine town of Bariloche make it one of the prettiest areas in the whole of Argentina. Unlike other areas of Argentina that are starved of rains and moisture due to the imposing Andes range, the Argentine Lake District is a verdant region that is anything but, and this makes for some spectacular views and vistas. Also known as one of the best fly fishing areas in Argentina and the world, there are quite a few activities to get up to while visiting the Lake District. While it may not have the famous draws of other areas such as El Calafate or Iguazu, it is still definitely right at the top of our list.
